Solo Bushcraft and Camping trip. This video was recorded late February early Mars. But it looks and feels like it’s early May. Started out with a bit colder (close to freezing) weather but what can I say…. Still I have not seen snow that stayed for more than a couple of hours on the ground this “winter”. It’s the year that jumped from autumn directly to spring. Well next year I sure will crave the snow that’s for sure.
Anyway.. out enjoying the wilderness with good food, trying out new techniques and ideas. Classic spit roast. Hard to beat. OMG that steak was good. Closest stream to get water was a bit awkward accessing because of wet terrain. Had to improvise to be able to reach clean flowing water, or walk 20 min extra downstream. Worked good but was a bit risky I guess. And the eternal versatile Polish Lavvu poncho. Yet another tweak after all of these years. It’s been a long time since I drew with charcoal. Was very tired and the wind wasn’t making it easy. A bit rusty and did one rookie mistake after another. But I really missed the relaxing sensation you get. It’s the closest I ever get to meditation. I think I will try to do it more often from now on.
